Maa Kshipra Aarti is conducted every day on Ram Ghat and is performed by Pandits of the temple. The most popular and the ancient ghat of Kshipra River is “Ram ghat”. During the KumbhMela or Simhasth, people come to this ghat for the holy dip as it is believed to be the sanctified ghat of the river. Ram ghat has a vital importance in the history of Kshipra River and Ujjain city.To promote the MaaKshipraMahaAarti and to conduct it on a bigger scale, USCL plans to conduct MaaKshipra MahaAarti at Ramghat. Another initiavtive for promotion of local and regional talent Malkhamb is proposed and was conducted after the Maha Arti . The Project is completed with DPR cost of (INR) 1.0 cr.The grand Maha Aarti of MaaKshipra is organized and conducted at the RamGhat on days specified by the authority alongwith Malkhamb event. Till date 6 events have been conducted. The Initial funding will be provided by USCL and project will be self-sustainable by provision for voluntary co-funding. The revenue model for this project is in development phase.
Benefits of Project:
The project aims at boosting tourism and branding of Ujjain city with expected attendance of 200 visitors for each event.The event provides platform for about 80 artists and other local talents to showcase their skills. Branding and promotion of MaaKshipra Aarti and Malkhamb would promote domestic and regional talent and would have a positive impact on the tourist driven economy of the city by increasing tourist footfall.
